Separate traffic by need
Review staff, guest Wi-Fi, cameras, voice and management traffic. Use network segmentation and firewall rules appropriate to the risk. Guest access should not expose business servers or camera interfaces. Test the separation after installation.
Protect administration
Replace default credentials, restrict management interfaces and use supported encrypted protocols. Prefer approved VPN or controlled remote access with MFA. Maintain secure configuration backups and document who can change routers, switches and access points.
Agree a handover
Include cable labels, a network diagram, asset inventory, test results and approved administrator access. Store credentials in an approved secret manager, not a public diagram or quotation. Agree monitoring and update ownership.
