A solution shaped around your work.
Shared storage should make ownership and access clear as data grows. Team folders, application storage and archive requirements need different handling, while resilience settings must be considered alongside independent backups and restoration procedures.
What this service covers
- Storage use and capacity assessment
- Shared-folder and permission design
- Network integration and access testing
- Backup and storage-health arrangements
We confirm the selected equipment, responsibilities and deliverables in your project proposal before work begins.
How we deliver the work
- 01
Assess the environment
Review the site, connected devices, existing configuration and application dependencies. Identify the physical access and operational constraints that affect the work.
- 02
Plan and implement
Agree the design, equipment compatibility and change window. Carry out the installation or configuration with a clear record of the agreed changes.
- 03
Verify and hand over
Check the relevant connections and business functions against the agreed scope. Record results, remaining dependencies and the information needed for ongoing administration.
A clear handover
Agree the records your team needs to operate and maintain the solution. Depending on the selected scope, these can include:
- Relevant configuration and equipment records
- Agreed functional checks and findings
- Administration guidance and support responsibilities
What to prepare for your project
Share current data volume, expected growth, user groups and applications accessing files so storage layout, access controls and backup requirements can be considered together.
Discuss this serviceYour questions, answered
Is a NAS also a complete backup solution?
A NAS can store primary files or backup copies, depending on its role. Drive redundancy does not replace independent backups; recovery planning should address deletion, equipment failure and loss of access to the site.
How do we choose storage capacity and user permissions?
Review current file volumes, growth, applications and team access. For Synology, QNAP or other storage options, confirm the exact model, compatible drives and supported functions before selecting equipment.
What is agreed before moving files to new storage?
Identify the source folders, owners, access permissions and available backups. Plan a suitable transfer window, validate sample files and permissions, and agree when the old storage can be retired.
How do we prepare for work on an existing system?
Identify the system owner, authorized administrator and critical applications. Confirm available backups and any change window before work begins. Access credentials should be exchanged only through an agreed secure method, never in the enquiry form.
